If you’re keen to keen to keep your spending to a minimum, then you’ll be pleased to know that there are plenty of ways to enjoy Broome on a budget! Here are just a few tips on how to keep costs down, whilst still getting the most out of your time in Broome.

Firstly, if you are just visiting, then why not stay in a hostel?  Backpacker accommodation has a reputation for being rather basic, but you might be surprised at what you can get for your money. These days, you can find hostels that offer everything from gorgeous pool areas for you to relax, and happening licensed bars. Even the more luxurious backpacker accommodation still tends to cost less than booking into a hotel – you can find contact details on my backpacker page. Alternatively, if you have any generous contacts living in Broome, you may want to ask if you can sleep on their sofa for a couple of nights if you really want to keep costs down.

Another great alternative is to stay at one of Broome’s caravan parks. They all offer beautiful shady accommodation with most offering park homes, swimming pools, powered and unpowered sites and plenty of room for campers.

When looking for ways to spend your time, don’t forget that Broome is host to a number of gorgeous local beaches and some great attractions. What better way to spend your day then relaxing at Roebuck Bay, or chilling out down at Cable Beach? These are undoubtedly some of the most stunning beaches that you are likely to encounter in this part of the world, and certainly well worth a visit. The best part is, it won’t cost you anything! If you’re making a day of it, then you may even want to think about taking a packed lunch to save on food costs.

A great way to spend some time without spending much, is to visit the Broome Museum and read about Broome’s early pearling history and culture.

For free camping, you have to go further afield, but Quandong on the Dampier Peninsula offers free camping but there are no facilities, so its a bring your own everything, including water. To find out more about this beautiful spot some 50 kms out of Broome, Click Here
