Horizontal Waterfall Photo Gallery
The Horizontal Waterfalls are described by David Attenborough as “One of the Natural Wonders of the World”.
Nicknamed the “Horries”, the Horizontal Waterfalls are one of the premiere tourist attractions of the Kimberley, attracting tens of thousand of visitors per year. The scenery on the way and when you arrive is simply spectacular, and shooting through the falls in a high powered jet boat is a once in a lifetime experience.

I am an Australian mixed media mosaic artist, living in Canada. (please see my website) I am doing a series of artworks based on a paint colour called “Copper Mine”. The series will include artwork which speaks to the devastation of land in the name of ‘progress’ i.e. mining for copper. I will also be addressing the health issues miners suffer as a result of years’ long exposure to mining and the effects the lifestyle has on families. My art is abstract and incorporates textures and colour to paint a 3D picture in mosaics. The Kimberleys is one of my favourite areas in Australia – I even named my daughter after it! I would like permission to use some of the textures, lines and form of the photographs on this site as part basis for my art. Credits will be given of course. I look forward to hearing from you.
You are most welcome to use the photographs, I look forward to seeing your art. Much of this site is based on showcasing this beautiful country which is rich in mineral resources, and under threat. Good luck!
Thanks so much. The photographs are stunning. I will try to do them justice!
