Broome Shire family concert and fireworks
The Shire of Broome will again host a spectacular free fireworks show and family concert to celebrate Australia Day in 2014.
In 2013 the Shire of Broome organised the event at Town Beach for the first time when Broome’s traditional fireworks event was cancelled.
This year the alcohol-free Shire of Broome Australia Day Fireworks and Family Concert on Sunday 26 January will get underway at 5pm in Lions Pioneer Park at Town Beach, with children’s activities and entertainment, food stalls and live music by Miss Behave and the School of Funk.
The fireworks show will start at 7.45pm and is again sponsored by Buru Energy Limited, with a live radio simulcast on Spirit 102.9FM.
The fireworks will be launched from a barge moored in Roebuck Bay, meaning excellent views will be available from a host of foreshore locations.
Earlier in the day, the traditional Combined Service Clubs Australia Day Breakfast will run between 8am and 10am in Lions Pioneer Park, with the Shire of Broome conducting a citizenship ceremony and presenting the 2014 Premier’s Active Citizenship Awards.
