Broome man stabbed on Christmas Day
Man stabbed in Broome
30th December, 2011 – Broome police and the Major Crime Squad have been knocking on doors asking the public whether they witnessed a man wearing only boxer shorts and a shirt walking the streets of Broome in the early hours of Christmas Day, after South Hedland man, Kristopher Dixon, 32, died after being stabbed in the chest during a brawl outside the Bungalow Bar.
Broome Detectives have charged Frenchman Thomas Camus, 22, from Paris, with grievous bodily harm over the incident. Police said the man had been at the Bungalow Bar nightclub and was walking alone on Dampier Terrace when he got into a fight with a group of people at about 2am.
The group broke up after the fight, leaving the man injured on the ground where he was later found by a female friend, police said. He was taken to hospital by a St John Ambulance officer but died a short time later.
